Where Armenia’s seismic data arrive
All nine CHARNET stations stream their records in real time to the institute’s data centre in Gyumri. The Armenian–Chinese seismic and GNSS network centre opened here in 2025 together with the Institute of Geophysics, China Earthquake Administration, with the first earthquake early warning system in the region.

Big data
Every station records without a break: ground motion from seismometers and accelerometers, positions from GNSS receivers and readings from weather sensors. Together they form a growing archive that feeds the catalogue, early warning and research.

How the data move
Seismic, strong-motion and GNSS data arrive from the stations across Armenia in real time.
The network and current seismicity are followed on the video wall and workstations.
The centre runs the first earthquake early warning system in the region; its terminal hangs on the wall of the operations room.
Events go to the IGES catalogue; network data are open data.
