A magnitude 4.0 earthquake at a depth of about 10 km was recorded by the Armenian–Chinese automated seismic and geodynamic system that has operated at the institute since early 2025. The epicentre lies in the same zone as the 8 March earthquake near Shenavan and Gogaran.
The institute considers it an aftershock, with a magnitude consistent with its earlier estimate of the largest expected aftershock.
