The institute designs and builds its own seismic equipment: ocean-bottom seismic stations tested in the Pacific and Atlantic, sensitive accelerometers, compact digital sensors for assessing the vulnerability of buildings and three-component MEMS accelerometers for buildings, dams, bridges and pipelines.
The multichannel autonomous system “Gyumri-01” monitors the dams of the Marmarik reservoir. Director Jon Karapetyan noted that the institute’s instruments are fully competitive and cost considerably less than foreign equivalents.
