Yerevan hosted the first international conference of young scientists on geophysics, engineering seismology and earthquake-resistant construction, organised by the institute together with the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences and dedicated to the Academy’s 70th anniversary.
More than 100 scientists from Russia, the USA, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Iran, India and other countries discussed seismic risk, strong-motion records, seismic zoning and the monitoring of critical structures and landslides. A partnership memorandum was signed with the Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University.
